The Medical Surgical Unit provides care to patients who have had general or orthopedic surgery or need hospital level care to treat a serious medical problem.
- Team members involved in the care of patients on the Medical Surgical Unit include: nurses, physical, occupational, language therapists, respiratory therapists, dieticians, social workers, pharmacists, discharge planners and physicians.
- Visiting hours are generaly 10 am to 8 pm. Family members are encouraged to visit and be available for any needed discharge education to help provide for a safe discharge.
- Special emphasis and support is offered for the patient and family dealing with end of life issues.
